The Chettiar Temple Society Library located at 1 Tank Road, Singapore 238065. has a physical library with about 2,000 Tamil and English books. The current library was opened in 2017. Prior to this there was an old library between 1931 – 1981 in the premises of the Singapore Nattukottai Nagarathars Chamber of Commerce at 45, Tank Road. This library was demolished in 1981 to facilitate the building of the new Sri Thendayuthapani temple. After reconstruction this library was never re-opened till 2017.
This is a Reference only library and borrowing of books is not allowed. It is open to the general public and has the following operating hours:
Weekday: Temple operating hours – 8.00am to 12.00 noon and 5.30pm to 8.30pm
Weekends: Whole day 8.00am – 8.30pm
The old collection consists of the books dating from the original library and most of the books are from before 1960. In particular, a donation by prominent Singapore Indian businessman V. Pakirisamy added many rare books to the collection. Some dating as far back as the 1890s. There are about 650 books in this collection and divided into Devotional, English, Literature and Temple Magazines. Please click the link below to download the book catalog.

The new collection consists of about 1,000 contemporary books and many of which were donated by Mustafa Center when they closed their books section. There are about 20 categories and include categories like – novels, science, history, spiritual, Suki Sivam, Kannadhasan, Iraiyanbu, Sujatha, Anna, Cinema, etc. Please click the link below to download the book catalog.
